Abenteuer Curitiba

Olá, tudo bem?

Mein Name ist Leon Geeler, ich bin Polymechaniker im dritten Lehrjahr, Fachrichtung Fertigung. Ich bin 18 Jahre alt und komme aus Flawil. Zusammen mit meinem Mitlernenden Jonas Wagner habe ich die Möglichkeit bekommen, nach Curitiba in Brasilien zu gehen und dort, für vier Monate, unsere Lehre weiterzuführen.

Mein Name ist Jonas Wagner, ich bin Polymechaniker und beende meine Lehre nächsten Sommer mit der Fachrichtung Fertigung. Ich bin 20 Jahre alt und wohne in Oberbüren. Für mich war die Chance auf einen Auslandeinsatz, schon in der Bewerbungsphase, ein grosses positives Kriterium.

Reise & Appartement

Unsere Reise Startete am Freitagabend dem 30.Juni, als wir mit gemischten Gefühlen in einen Flieger der Swiss stiegen. Zum einen war da die Vorfreude auf das neue Land und die neue Kultur, sowie die Freude auf das Abenteuer generell. Auf der anderen Seite war allerdings auch der Gedanke, unsere Familien und Freunde für vier Monate zu verlassen, welcher uns schwer fiel. Als wir nach elf Stunden fliegen in Sao Paulo ankamen, mussten wir uns extrem beeilen um dann noch den Inlandflug nach Curitiba zu erreichen. Dieser war allerdings, im Vergleich zum ersten Flug, nur noch ein Katzensprung. In Curitiba wurden wir dann wie besprochen von einem Fahrer abgeholt, welcher uns zu unserem Appartement brachte. Unsere Wohnung ist sehr gross und geräumig und hat eine gute Lage. Dies machte es uns einfach uns schnell einzuleben.

Erster Arbeitstag

Am ersten Arbeitstag, wurden wir von Juliano, unserem direktem Vorgesetzten, abgeholt. Als wir im Bühler Curitiba angekommen sind, wurde uns erstmals das ganze Gelände gezeigt. Ebenfalls durften wir schon viele Mitarbeiter kennenlernen, welche alle sehr freundlich waren. Zum Glück hat uns das IT sehr stark geholfen, indem sie uns SIM Karten besorgt hatten, damit wir in ganz Brasilien Internetzugang haben. Dadurch konnten wir nun auch ohne Probleme Uber Taxis bestelle.

Adventure Curitiba

My name is Leon Geeler, I am a polymechanic at the end of my 3rd year of apprenticeship with a focus on manufacturing. I am 18 years old and come from Flawil. Together with my fellow apprentice Jonas Wagner, I have been given the opportunity to go to Curitiba in Brazil and continue our apprenticeship there for four months.

My name is Jonas Wagner, I am a polymechanic and I will finish my apprenticeship next summer with a specialisation in manufacturing. I am 20 years old and live in Oberbüren. For me, the chance to work abroad was a big positive criterion, even during the application phase.

Journey & Apartment

Our trip started on Friday evening, 30 June, when we boarded a Swiss plane with mixed feelings. On the one hand, there was the anticipation of the new country and the new culture, as well as the joy of the adventure in general. On the other hand, however, there was also the thought of leaving our families and friends for four months, which was difficult for us. When we arrived in Sao Paulo after an eleven-hour flight, we had to hurry extremely to catch the domestic flight to Curitiba. Compared to the first flight, however, this was only a stone’s throw away. In Curitiba, we were picked up by a driver who took us to our flat. Our flat is very large and spacious and has a good location. This made it easy for us to settle in quickly.

First day at work

On our first day of work, we were picked up by Juliano, our direct supervisor. When we arrived at Bühler Curitiba, we were shown around the entire site for the first time. We also had the chance to meet many employees, who were all very friendly. Fortunately, IT helped us a lot by getting us SIM cards so that we could have internet access all over Brazil. As a result, we were able to order Uber taxis without any problems.
